V27-847 : COUNCIL TOUR/CONSIDERATION OF DEVELOPMENT SITES - 15 JULY 1999

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control evaluated the findings of the check list survey which was provided to members and officers during the Council Tour on 15 July 1999 to assess the acceptability of the developments visited. The report also considered the possible format for future Tours.

Members felt that in past years too many sites had been visited, making the tour feel rushed and not giving enough time at each site. They therefore preferred two tours, preferably in the evening to allow working members to attend.

RESOLVED

1. That the report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerning the Annual Council Tour of the District be received.

2. That in future years two formal, structured Tours take place on an annual basis, to be held over one or two evenings as required, and attendance be authorised as an approved duty.
