Application for rear conservatory.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined a proposal to build a new conservatory to the rear of a large terraced property. The conservatory would be constructed within an oblong space formed between the existing building and the neighbour's boundary wall.

The proposal would have an adverse impact on the neighbouring property by creating a feeling of enclosure within part of the neighbour's rear garden, although no objection had been received. The full length windows of the conservatory would also create a loss of privacy. The proposal was therefore contrary to policy and the Director recommended refusal.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W305/1.
