Application for extension to wet fish shop.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined a proposal to erect a two metre by 2.4 metre flat roofed extension on the side of an existing fisherman's hut at Southwold Harbour. This would provide a cold store and storage area in compliance with Environmental Health regulations.

Whilst the principle of the addition could be recommended, the appearance of the premises and the conservation area would benefit from an improved design such as a pitched roof. The Director requested authority to approve an amended design.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to an amended application W17389 with improved design, incorporating a pitched roof, subject to appropriate conditions on retail sales and signage.
