Application for parking of two HGV training vehicles.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above much extended private dwelling was in the open countryside approximately one mile west of Beccles. It was prominently situated on rising ground, with a long curved driveway leading up from the Bungay Road. Two heavy goods vehicles had been kept on site for some time, where they were clearly visible from the road.

This was an unauthorised commercial use for which planning permission would be needed. There was no proven benefit to the rural economy or other essential need met, and the vehicles had a detrimental visual impact on the Broads area to the north. This was therefore against policy, and the Director recommended refusal and enforcement.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W14252/4, and that the Chief Executive be authorised to take all necessary action, including enforcement, to ensure the cessation of the storage of HGV vehicles at Barsham Rigg, Bungay Road, Barsham.
