V27-811 : HYPOTHERMIA CARDS FOR THE ELDERLY
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services proposed the purchase of temperature cards incorporating liquid crystal thermometers, which would provide a safe, accurate and easy to read means for the elderly to monitor the temperature of their accommodation as a safeguard against hypothermia.
RESOLVED
1. That 2,500 Hypothermia Temperature Cards for the Elderly be ordered, at a cost £1,700 plus VAT.
*No Budget Provision
2. That a Temperature Card be delivered to existing elderly tenants where identified and they be advised of suitable positioning of the card.
3. That an item be included in the next edition of the Tenants' Newsletter, inviting elderly tenants to apply for a Temperature Card.
4. That a Temperature Card be included in the information pack given to new tenants, where the applicant is an elderly person.
