V27-79 : LEISURE REVENUE GRANT
INTERNATIONAL SAILING CRAFT ASSOCIATION
The report of the Director of Community Services outlined a request from the International Sailing Craft Association (ISCA) for a grant of £200 towards the purchase of a Clayton Skiff, a modern version of a workboat which would have been used in east coast ports. ISCA aimed to base the vessel at Oulton Broad, but use it at the Lowestoft Maritime Festival and elsewhere during the Summer where it would be used to promote Lowestoft. The skiff would also be available for use by other competent authorised organisations such as the Sea Scouts. Given the timescale to purchase, the Chairman of Community Services had approved this grant and the Committee was asked to confirm this decision. RESOLVED
That the action of the Director of Community Services, in consultation with the Chairman, in offering a grant of £200 to the International Sailing Craft Association towards the purchase of a Clayton Skiff, be confirmed.
