V27-788 : PRIORITY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIVE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT 1996-2000
The report of the Director of Waveney Contract Services was considered as a matter of urgency, under the statutory provision accorded to the Chairman, as it had been unavailable at the time of the publication of the Agenda.
The report set out the results of performance against stated priority timescales for repairs carried out by Waveney Contract Services under the above contract and how it could be improved for the future.
Members felt a more detailed breakdown of figures relating to Priority B, C and D jobs should have been available, but the Director had as yet been unable to disseminate this information. However, of around 150 jobs not meeting the timescales, 50% of those were considered to be `contentious' in relation to the reasons detailed at 2.2 (a) to (d) in the report.
RESOLVED
1. That the Director of Housing and Environmental Services and the Director of Waveney Contract Services continue to work together to implement proposals to improve priority performance, with concentrated efforts aimed at `B' `C' and `D' Priority orders. 2. That the Chief Internal Auditor be asked to arbitrate on the contract definitions of priorities.
3. That performance continues to be closely monitored and a further report be brought back to the January 2000 meeting of this Committee.
