V27-787 : HOUSING INVESTMENT PROGRAMME SUMMARY

The report of the Director of Central Services was considered as a matter of urgency, under the statutory provision accorded to the Chairman, as it had been unavailable at the time of the publication of the Agenda.

The report detailed the actual and budgeted figures for the period 1997-2001. Again, some slippage was identified in the current year budget, which members felt could be addressed by a CCTV project for housing estates and the utilisation of more money in security fencing. The Director felt a CCTV project would need detailed costings to be supplied.

RESOLVED

That the Housing Investment Programme Summary be received, and a fully costed report on CCTV provision on housing estates be taken to the next meeting of Housing and Environmental Services Committee in relation to slippages in the current budget.
