V27-783 : PROPOSED MEETINGS - HOUSING SUB-COMMITTEE / TENANT PANEL

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services proposed the establishment of a Joint Member/Tenant Forum, consisting of members of Housing Sub- Committee and representatives from Waveney Tenant Panel, following a recommendation from the Joint Officer/Member/Tenant Working Group of 23 September 1999.

The Forum would offer all Tenant Associations the opportunity to debate current issues and influence policy, and would address the Government Office's concerns that tenants should be involved at a strategic level as well as operational.

RESOLVED

That a Joint Member/Tenant Forum be established to meet on a quarterly basis, and that attendance by members of Housing Sub-Committee be authorised as an approved duty.
