V27-78 : BIXLEY GREEN IMPROVEMENT SCHEME

The report of the Director of Community Services advised that the Community Development worker at Kirkley was encouraging a number of projects as part of the community gardens scheme, including one at Bixley Green, just to the north of Carlton Road in South Lowestoft.

Through the Single Regeneration Budget process Allington Healthcare Trust had given £6,000 to the project. In consultation with the Chairman, the Director had pledged £200 from the Council to assist in the improvements, and a 5-a side goal post had also been offered. Work for the scheme had been agreed through the Director to ensure that the community effort would be sustainable.

RESOLVED

1. That the community involvement in the Bixley Green Improvement Scheme be welcomed.

2. That the action of the Director of Community Services, in consultation with the Chairman, in offering a grant of £200 towards the improvement scheme at Bixley Green, to be met from existing budgets, be confirmed.
