V27-775 : ANGLIA IN BLOOM RESULTS

The report of the Director of Community Services set out the results of the Anglia in Bloom Competition. Lowestoft was placed equal third in the 'Best Large Town' category, and was also awarded the Anglia in Bloom cup for the `Best Local Competition' in the `Large Town/City' category. Bungay had again achieved success by winning the `Anglia in Bloom' Salver for the Best Local Competition in their category.

Bungay's Tourism and Leisure Committee had already been given £200 for this year's event. The Council could give continued support to Lowestoft in Bloom by offering a further £2,000 to help them with next year's organisation.

RESOLVED

That the Lowestoft in Bloom Committee be offered £2,000 to continue its work to improve Lowestoft and its community, to be met from within existing budgets.
