V27-774 : A NEW COMMON FOR HALESWORTH

The report of the Director of Community Services outlined a request from Halesworth Town Council for a Minor Project Capital Grant of £3,000 towards the total project cost of £130,000 for the acquisition and improvement of the grazing marsh site to the east of Halesworth. The project aimed to provide a new amenity for the community and visitors, and to conserve an important Special Landscape Area.

RESOLVED

That an offer of a Minor Project Capital Grant of £3,000 be made to Halesworth Town Council for the purpose of acquiring the grazing marsh site to the east of Halesworth as new public open space, payable once the full funding package is achieved.

(Councillor Holzer declared an interest in the above item and left the room during the debate).
