V27-769 : LEISURE DEVELOPMENT SERVICE PERFORMANCE STATEMENT

The report of the Director of Community Services alerted members to the production of a Draft Guidance Document by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport which aimed to require all local authorities to publish Cultural Service Strategies by 2002.

The Leisure Development Service Performance Statement for Best Value had recently been drafted, but it was proposed that this review be re-programmed for 2000/2001 to enable the Draft Guidance to be incorporated. A full report on the Draft Guidance would be presented to a future meeting of the Committee.

RESOLVED

That a report on the implications of the Department of Culture, Media and Sport's Cultural Strategy Draft Guidance be presented to a future meeting of the Committee.
