V27-768 : ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES SERVICE PERFORMANCE STATEMENT

The report of the Director of Community Services provided the Service Performance Statement (SPS) for Architectural Services, which had been reviewed on 1 September 1999 by the Committee's SPS Panel and by Performance Review Panel No. 2 on 29 September 1999.

As a result of these reviews it was recommended that: consideration be given to externalising certain projects to obtain a benchmarking comparison; before executing any "free" work in support of the Market Town Councils, consideration be given to the extent of such work and the ability of the organisation to pay an appropriate fee; further consideration be given to the re-assigning of the Access officer and CAPS Project Officer in view of their architectural skills; a progress report be submitted in three months' time on the implementation of the Action Plans in the SPS; and that a further report be submitted in six months' time following the completion of work on user consultation, benchmarking and competitive assessment.

RESOLVED

That the Service Performance Statement for Architectural Services be approved, subject to the implementation of the recommendations set out in the report of the Director of Community Services.
