V27-76 : LEISURE REVENUE GRANT - ROOKIES ON THE BEACH

The report of the Director of Community Services outlined an approach from the Waveney Lifesaving Club seeking sponsorship for the annual Rookies on the Beach event. The four day event was held on Royal Green/South Beach, Lowestoft with the objective of promoting water safety to children and raising awareness of the issues. The Council supported the event by allowing free use of Royal Green and concession on charges for use of the North Denes Caravan and Camping Site, and it was proposed that a grant of £500 be offered.

RESOLVED

That a grant of £500 be made to the Waveney Lifesaving Club in support of "Rookies on the Beach 1999", to be met from the Leisure Revenue Grants Budget.
