V27-745 : MARIE JEMIMA PIPE CHARITY - GRANTS

The report of the Director of Central Services considered the distribution of grants from the Marie Jemima Pipe Charity to assist Lowestoft Fishermen and their families who were in need or to assist Institutions which were principally concerned with the welfare of Lowestoft Fishermen. The income for 1999/2000 was estimated at £1,800 and undistributed income from previous years was £499.

In recent years suitable beneficiaries had been identified with the assistance of the Royal National Mission for Deep Sea Fishermen. Also, £500 had been contributed to a Christmas Cheer Fund administered by the Mission.

RESOLVED

1. That a contribution of £500 be made to the Royal National Mission for Deep Sea Fishermen for its Christmas Cheer Fund.

2. That up to £1,500 be distributed in grant aid direct to beneficiaries identified by the Mission.
