V27-729 : SUFFOLK ACRE - PURCHASE OF PREMISES

The report of the Chief Executive outlined a request from Suffolk ACRE for a contribution of £5,000 towards its costs of purchasing new premises.

Suffolk ACRE had secured a National Lottery award for a project to create a rural communities resource centre, and had decided to find suitable premises to accommodate both this centre and it's own offices. A property has been identified and an additional £110,000 has been raised. However, there was a shortfall and each of the Suffolk local authorities had been asked for a one-off contribution of £5,000.

RESOLVED

That a contribution of £5,000 be made towards the purchase of premises for Suffolk Acre, subject to support from the other Suffolk local authorities.
