V27-697 : LOWESTOFT ECONOMIC PROJECTS OFFICER - ACTIVITY REPORT

The report of the Chief Executive reviewed the work and achievements of the Lowestoft Economic Projects Officer post from February 1998 to July 1999, which was a requirement of the joint funding package with Suffolk County Council, the European Regional Development Fund, and the Council.

The fixed term contract on the post ended on 22 February 2000 and the report examined the need to extend the contract for a further three years. Early discussions needed to be held with the other partners to seek their renewed commitment to the post.

RECOMMENDED

1. That the Lowestoft Economic Projects Officer's post be extended for a further three years from the end of February 2000 to February 2003, subject to an agreement with Suffolk County Council on joint funding.

2. That the current Job Description be amended to take into account the changed role of the post.
