Application to replace existing shop signs with a series of six banners on flagpoles.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined an application to make the above business more visible from the main road with the use of new advertising banners to replace the existing sign. The Director felt this was justified, and the proposed flagpoles were acceptable although excessive in number. One sign at each end of the site and two more spaced along the road frontage would not be over-dominant, and the Director recommended that he be given authority to approve the application for four flagpoles.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to an amended application A/W744/2, for a maximum of four flagpoles.
