Development Control - 21/07/99

V27-610 : W8243/7 - WAREHOUSE, CAMP ROAD, LOWESTOFT

Application for changes to doors and windows.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the unit had been granted consent for ancillary retail use for Bally Shoes in 1982, with a condition of the permission varied in 1991 to allow expansion of the retail to allow the sale of fashion wear. The proposal was for external alterations to the Camp Road frontage including a pair of timber doors and covering part of the existing window areas with boarding.

In principal there was no objection to the proposed alterations, however, the use of the unit was specifically approved for ancillary retailing of shoes and fashion wear. The current occupiers, a pine furniture company, should be invited to submit an application to regularise this situation. The Director recommended approval subject to this.

RESOLVED

That the applicants be invited to submit an application for change of use, and subject to this, the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to approve application W8243/7 subject to no adverse material considerations being received.
