Application to increase height of rear boundary wall.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the site was on the inside of a bend in a cul-de-sac with the rear garden having road on two sides. As the land dipped at this point, the rear garden and the back windows of the house were overlooked from the road and from other bungalows in the close. The proposal was to add a soldier course to the wall adding 0.25 metres in height, reflecting brick detailing found in the bungalows of the development. Two neighbours objections were reported.

The Director felt the extended wall would be acceptable with no adverse impact on any of the other dwellings at the head of the close and recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W15868/8, subject to a condition agreeing the type and colour of bricks.
