Application for front and side extensions.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined 10 complaints from local residents concerned that the existing club caused parking problems on the surrounding road network, and that any extension would make the situation worse.

Major extensions to the club were refused on appeal in 1998 due to inadequate parking and unsafe access proposals. There was a significant shortfall in parking provision at present, but the Director felt that the applicants had demonstrated that the proposed extensions did not increase the public floor area due to internal alterations and improvements. The extensions did not therefore generate a requirement for additional parking, or make the existing situation any worse. The Director recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W5563/12.
