V27-589 : W17313 - 139 CORTON ROAD, LOWESTOFT
Application for single and two storey extensions.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the main extension applied for was a large two storey side extension, under an enlarged hipped roof in character with the house, which would extend 1.8 metres further back than the present two storey part of the house, overlapping the rear of the neighbour's house by 2.5 metres. The neighbour had objected on grounds of blocking of daylight and overbearing effect. The extension would block approximately one and a half hours of daylight each day to both the patio and rear windows of the neighbour. Officers had tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a more shallow rear projection, thus the recommendation of the Director was for refusal. Any resubmitted reduced application would be brought back to the Committee. RESOLVED
That planning permission be refused to application W17313.
