V27-584 : W16662/8 - MILL LANE, BARNBY
Application for construction of plots 11 and 14.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that outline planning permission was originally granted on the above site in August 1997, and that subsequent planning permissions had been granted for individual plots within the site. Plot 11 was for a two storey, three bedroom detached dwelling which would complement other previously approved plots on the site. However, plot 14, which was a large L-shaped three bedroom detached bungalow with a large attached double garage incorporating a single up and over door, would result in a bland, over-dominant frontage on an important central plot. The applicants had been asked to consider moving this bungalow to a less conspicuous location, but had refused this as being impractical. The Director felt that the more modest L-shaped footprint indicated on the original outline scheme would achieve a more acceptable development and recommended refusal due to dominance conflicting with Suffolk Design Guide requirements and consequently Policy H8 of the adopted Waveney Local Plan. RESOLVED
That planning permission be refused to application W16662/8.
