V27-566 : PEST CONTROL - SERVICE PERFORMANCE STATEMENT

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services commented on the Service Performance Statement for the Pest Control Service, which had been reviewed on 9 June 1999 by a Service Performance Statement Panel comprising five members of the Policy and Resources Committee, and by Management Team on 9 September 1999.

As a result of these reviews, it was recommended that: a statutory minimum pest control service should be defined, incorporating appropriate performance indicators; an "outline contract" should be devised to enable comparisons with other service providers, including appropriate service quality standards; and where services were provided for other Council Departments, a Service Level Agreement should be provided. Additionally benchmarking should take place with other service providers.

RESOLVED

That the Service Performance Statement for Pest Control Service be approved, subject to the implementation of the recommendations included in the report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services.
