V27-560 : HEALTH PROMOTION - SKIN CANCER IN WAVENEY
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services updated members on the latest information regarding the problems of skin cancer in the Waveney area and the action taken by the Council to raise awareness amongst the general public, following comments made by the Health Education Authority and the 1998 report from Suffolk Health. Members asked that every opportunity to issue literature, such as at the outdoor swimming pools and caravan sites and during the Sea Front Air Festival, be utilised. In addition, members would question the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Keeble, further on the incidence in Waveney, when he attended to present his annual review.
RESOLVED
That continuing support be given to an increased and ongoing Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign.
