V27-559 : FOODLINK PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services examined the promotional activities in areas of food safety by the Council.

The Environmental Services Division undertook the role of food safety promotions through national campaigns such as "Foodlink", organised by the Federation of Food and Drink. The area of work had increased considerably and would further if demands from other organisations, especially schools, for such input were met.

RESOLVED

1. That the Food and Safety Section be congratulated on the continuing success of their food safety promotional activities.

2. That support be given to further improvement in this area of the Section's work, particularly in developing better links with schools; and within areas of social deprivation.
