V27-529 : HOUSING REVENUE ACCOUNT - OUT-TURN 1998/1999

The report of the Director of Central Services detailed the out-turn results for 1998/99 on the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) and Housing Repairs Fund.

The deficit for the year on the HRA was £395k against a planned figure of £446k. Therefore, reserves at 31 March 1999 were £51k higher at £1.149 million. An additional £97k would be required during 1999/2000 to complete the revenue financing of the housing capital programme.

The closing balance on the Repairs Fund at £1.161m was £372k higher than planned. In particular, the underspend in 1998/99 was on programme maintenance. The saving would be taken into account in the revised budget for 1999/2000 and the budget for 2000/2001.

RESOLVED

That the out-turn results for the Housing Revenue Account and Housing Repairs Fund, for the year ended 31 March 1999, be approved.
