V27-523 : MINOR PROJECT CAPITAL GRANT - BECCLES TENNIS CLUB
The report of the Director of Community Services outlined a request from Beccles Tennis Club for a grant towards the provision of floodlighting at the club in an attempt to maximise summer playing time and extend winter opportunities and participation. The cost of the works, including the widening of an existing gateway to allow wheelchair access, totalled £21,500
The Club had achieved funding of £16,000 from the Foundation for Sport and the Arts, and had raised £1,500 from its own funds. A grant of £2,000 was being sought from both Beccles Town Council and the District Council.
RESOLVED
That a Minor Project Capital Grant of £2,000 be offered to Beccles Tennis Club towards the funding of floodlights for the Courts at Common Lane South, Beccles, subject to the full funding package being achieved.
