V27-520 : HOME ENERGY CONSERVATION ACT 1995

The report of the Director of Community Services updated members on the initiatives which had been pursued in meeting the requirements of the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995, and proposed actions needed to continue the Council's response to its statutory function under this Act.

RESOLVED

1. That officers in the Property Services Section be congratulated on the successes that have been achieved so far, particularly the award of financial support from HecaAction for the supply of condensating boilers as a part of the "Suffolk County Coldbusters" initiative.

2. That the action of the Director of Community Services, in consultation with the Chairman, in approving the partnership agreement with the other Suffolk Local Authorities and Flagship Housing for the provision of replacement energy efficient boilers as part of the HecaAction initiative for signature, be confirmed.

3. That the sum of £5,000 be considered as a special item in the 2000/2001 budget to cover possible printing and publicity costs as well as further initiatives.

4. That the action of the Director of Community Services, in consultation with the Chairman, in completing and returning the Home Energy Conservation Act progress report for 1998/99 to the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions as part of the Authority's Housing Investment Programme bid submission, be confirmed.
