V27-515 : SWIMMING POOL PROVISION IN BECCLES
The report of the Chief Executive outlined a request from Miss J Wright, a resident of Beccles, that the Council consider supporting the plans of a group of Beccles residents to campaign for an indoor swimming pool complex in Beccles.
Whilst sympathetic to the aims of the campaign, due to the current budget position of the Council financial support could not be given. Members requested, however, that a letter be sent to Miss Wright advising that the Council will be happy to help with advice on attracting funding from other sources.
RESOLVED
That Miss J Wright be informed that, while the Council will be happy to provide advice regarding acquiring lottery or other funding towards her campaign for an indoor swimming pool complex in Beccles, it will be unable to provide financial support towards the campaign.
