V27-48 : DE-TRUNKING OF A12

The report of the Director of Community Services provided a paper prepared for the meeting of the Lowestoft Partnership Joint Panel on 22 March 1999, which gave background on de- trunking and a recommendation for the termination of de-trunking in Lowestoft. The recommendation was accepted by the Partnership and endorsement was sought from this Committee and the County Council prior to seeking agreement with the DETR and Highways Agency.

RESOLVED

1. That the de-trunking of the A12 be welcomed and the Northern termination of the de- trunked section be the A12/A146 junction just South of the Bascule Bridge.

2. That officers support County colleagues on the above basis in discussions with the Highways Agency to implement full de-trunking.
