V27-459 : REVIEW OF PRINTING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COUNCIL
The report of the Chief Executive provided details of an extensive review of the printing requirements of the Council, and proposals for the replacement of the two large laser production printers in the central print unit as the present rental agreements would end on 31 August 1999.
The proposals maintained the present central print room resource for the next five years, took advantage of changes in laser printer technology, and allowed for anticipated printing requirements during that period. They would also come within the budget which has already been set.
RESOLVED
1. That the Council retain a central print facility for the next five years subject to annual reviews.
2. That the Chief Executive be authorised to enter into negotiations with relevant suppliers to replace the present print machines the cost of which must not exceed the target net budget for the central print unit at £130,000.
