V27-44 : HALESWORTH HERITAGE ECONOMIC REGENERATION SCHEME

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control detailed an invitation from English Heritage to submit proposals for a Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme (HERS) for Halesworth. English Heritage would contribute £30,000 per annum for three years commencing June 1999, whilst Waveney's contribution would be as already agreed in support of the Halesworth Town Trail.

RESOLVED

1. That the Halesworth Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme be supported, as set out in the preliminary application, based on this Council's contributions of £13,000 per annum from 1999/00 and 2000/01 planning conservation budgets and that appropriate staffing and technical support be provided, as previously agreed at minute V26-1311.

2. That, subject to approval by English Heritage of the Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme and GO-East of 5b funding for the Tourism Trail bid, a report be submitted to Personnel Resources Sub-Committee for the appointment of a part time project officer, funded by the schemes.
