V27-439 : OTHER MILLENNIAL ISSUES

The report of the Director of Community Services detailed a number of other matters relating to the Millennium which had arisen since the last meeting of the Sub-Committee requiring a decision. It was suggested that these and similar requests should be positively considered by the Director of Community Services, subject to reasonable conditions, no planning objections and charges to enable the recovery of any costs incurred.

The Chief Executive and Director of Community Services had now met the Mayor and Chief Executive of Gisborne, New Zealand's most easterly City, and discussions were ongoing with the possible exchange of Millennium greetings between Most Easterly towns across the world.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Community Services, in consultation with the Chairman, be given delegated authority to determine all minor Millennial requests, subject to reasonable conditions, no planning objections and charges to enable the recovery of any costs incurred.
