V27-436 : BEACON MILLENNIUM

The report of the Director of Community Services set out the present arrangements for Millennium Beacons. A number of Parish/Town Councils had made applications under the Awards for All Schemes, and it was also proposed that the Council become directly involved with installing a number of Beacons, to act as focal point for the Millennium and other celebrations in the future. The general locations of these new Millennium Beacons would be at Royal Green, Pakefield, Lowestoft Ness, and Nicholas Everitt Park.

RESOLVED

1. That the installation of Millennium Beacons continue to be encouraged across the District as local focal points for Millennium celebrations.

2. That planning applications for Millennium Beacons be submitted for Royal Green, Pakefield, Lowestoft Ness and Nicholas Everitt Park.
