V27-399 : 30 ROYAL AVENUE, LOWESTOFT - TREE PRESERVATION ORDER NO. 271
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control reminded members that this item had been deferred at the April meeting of the Committee to give the owner more time to respond, and again in May for a site visit. The owner had objected to the above Order on the grounds of the damage the tree had caused and could cause in the future. The Director felt that damage done by the tree so far was minimal, and that by confirming the Order the Council would keep control of the tree and, if it appeared to be causing more serious problems in the future, could order a replacement tree to be planted should this one be felled. Branches could be pruned and another tree on the site removed to allow more light to the house.
Members felt that this large forest tree was overbearing on the house, and as there was potential for it to cause damage in the future they did not wish to confirm the Order. RESOLVED
That Tree Preservation Order No. 271, Land at 30 Royal Avenue, Lowestoft, be not confirmed.
