Application for first floor rear extension.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control explained that the above end terrace house had an existing ground floor extension the width of the house extending to 6.5 metres. The proposal was to construct two first floor bedrooms above this extension, extending to 3.25 metres.

An extension this size at first floor level would seriously affect the light and outlook to the rear windows of the adjacent house at ground and first floor level, and the Director therefore felt the proposal was overdevelopment of this modest house which would harm the amenity of the neighbour and conflict with the Local Plan. He recommended refusal.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W5264/2.
