V27-393 : W10522/7 AND /8 - 69 HIGH STREET, SOUTHWOLD
Application for conversion of main shop entrance to facilitate disabled access, and listed building consent for conversion of existing main shop entrance to facilitate disabled access. The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined the above application by the Council, to which the Town Council had objected on grounds of the proposed colour change. The property had recently been redecorated to match the blue tiles on the front of the building and blue door, and the Town Council felt the Council's maroon and fawn corporate colours would not match these. They also felt that Waveney's logo on the window would not enhance the appearance of the building.
The Director suggested that the lighter fawn colour be used on the exterior woodwork where the old and new colours met to avoid any clash, and recommended approval of the applications.
RESOLVED
That for the purposes of paragraph 4(5) of the Town and Country Planning General Regulations 1976, planning permission and listed building consent be granted to applications W10522/7 and W10522/8 respectively.
