V27-389 : W11108/11 - 2 SKOULDING CLOSE, LOWESTOFT
Application for erection of carport.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned the above retrospective application for an eight metre long and 3.6 metre wide car port which filled the whole of the angle between the two arms of the above L-shaped bungalow. The car port was constructed of stained timber and roofed with light coloured, reflective polycarbonate sheets which contrasted harshly with the red/brown bricks and tiles of the existing bungalow. The applicant was advised during construction of the need for permission, and that the car port would have been permitted development if reduced in length to 5.9 metres. The Director recommended refusal of the application and action to ensure the car port was either removed or reduced in length to 5.9 metres.
RESOLVED
1. That planning permission be refused to application W11108/11.
2. That the Chief Executive be authorised to take all pursuant action to secure the removal, or reduction to 5.9 metres in length, of the unauthorised car port at 2 Skoulding Close, Lowestoft.
