Application for change of use from play area to domestic garden.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control reminded members that the above application had been deferred at the last meeting of the Committee for information regarding alternative open space in the area and alternative uses for the site.

There were two areas of open space within 200m of the site, and two further areas within 320m, all of which were larger than the Buttercup Close site. There was therefore adequate alternative provision in the vicinity of the application site. Concerning alternative uses for the site, the play area could be considered as a building plot to accommodate a small dwelling. The Director recommended that the above application to use part of the play area as private garden be approved, subject to boundary fencing.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W17257, subject to boundary fencing of the areas to be used as private garden.
