Application for single and two storey side extensions, and listed building consent for single and two storey side extensions and internal and external alterations.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above was a resubmission of an application refused in April 1999, and that the new scheme was in line with the Conservation Officer's recommendations, although the Town Council recommend refusal.

The site was moderately screened by mature trees, and the proposed extension would be set back three metres from the front face of the house so that the parapet of the original single storey wing could be retained. The roof would be hipped and finished in natural slate to match the existing, and the finished appearance should be harmonious and not detract from the character of the listed building. The Director recommended approval. RESOLVED

That planning permission and listed building consent be granted to applications W17230/2 and W17230/3 respectively.
