Application for single storey rear extension.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control reminded members that a site visit had recently taken place at the above property, the owner of which had requested permission to construct an extension to provide ground floor accommodation for her disabled son.

In planning terms the proposed extension was unacceptable due to its projection beyond the neighbouring house to the left, which would have the effect of blocking light and outlook. At the site meeting members had suggested relocating the extension to the opposite side of the house. The Director felt that this could be achieved, and would have a reduced effect on the neighbour to the left, and minimal impact on the neighbour to the right, neither of which objected. He recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W172576, subject to the extension being moved to the left hand side of the garden.
