V27-377 : W16420/1 - THE BRITISH OAK PUBLIC HOUSE, BARDOLPH ROAD, BUNGAY
Application for conversion of public house to two dwellings and outline application to construct four dwellings.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined the above proposal, and concerns which had been expressed regarding proximity, loss of light, loss of privacy and maintenance access. The Director considered that in principle this was an acceptable proposal, but he felt that the new buildings should be sited at least six metres from the boundary. This could be achieved with the deletion of one unit, making five in total, the realistic maximum for the site.
The public house would be easily converted and all units would have adequate garden space. The Director recommended that he be delegated to approve an application for five units. RESOLVED
That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to an amended application W16420/1 for a total of five dwellings consisting of two by conversion, one on the road frontage and two on the remainder of the land.
