V27-361 : TENANT PARTICIPATION COMPACTS
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services dealt with introduction of Tenant Participation Compacts between all Council landlords and their tenants. The Compacts would set out clearly how tenants would be involved collectively in shaping local decisions.
Legislation was expected shortly, and it was anticipated that Tenant Participation Compacts would need to be in place by April 2000. Consequently, it was proposed that a joint member/tenant/officer Working Party be established to make recommendations as to the content and scope of Tenant Participation Compacts at both local neighbourhood and Council-wide levels.
RESOLVED
1. That a Working Party be established to make recommendations as to the content and scope of Tenant Participation Compacts, to be comprised of members, tenants and officers.
2. That Councillors Blowers, R. Carter and Rouse be appointed to the Working Party for 1999/2000, and attendance be authorised as an approved duty.
