V27-352 : PRESENTATION - MR PETER MTAKI

The Chairman introduced Peter Mtaki, an Environmental Health Officer from Musoma, Tanzania, to the Committee. Peter was in the UK on a charitable six month work experience placement, as a guest of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. Various local authorities, including Waveney, and other organisations had helped Peter gain an invaluable insight into Environmental Health work in the UK, and hopefully learn lessons which he would put to good use when he returned to Tanzania.

Peter made a brief presentation to the Committee and this was followed by a short question and answer session. The Chairman thanked Peter for his very interesting presentation.

RESOLVED

That the Housing and Environmental Services Committee extend a warm welcome to Mr. Mtaki, and that whilst he is visiting the Waveney area Mr. Mtaki's accommodation expenses be paid from surplus income from Food and Safety training initiatives.
