V27-314 : SOUTH LOWESTOFT RELIEF ROAD AND ASSOCIATED MEASURES - STRATEGY

The report of the Chief Executive provided copies of several reports that were presented to the Waveney Partnership Joint Panel at its meeting on 21 June 1999 relating to the above. There was a programme to which both Councils were working to with a view to a planning application being submitted on 20 July 1999. Prior to the submission of the planning application, it was necessary for both authorities to have adopted the various recommendations contained in the reports, so as to support the planning application that would be made.

However, it was noted that in adopting the recommendations they were not intended to be rigid and there could be a need for some change as the process was progressed. It had also not been possible to speak to any of the partner organisations who would be involved in taking the recommendations forward, and it would therefore be necessary for officers to undertake some detailed work to discern what work could be necessary to progress the recommendations and to ascertain what work could be carried out jointly with other partners.

In addition, the Chief Executive reported receipt of a letter from the Port Manager raising a number of issues on which the officers would be having discussions in due course.

RESOLVED

That the various recommendations contained the report presented to the Waveney Partnership Joint Panel on 21 June 1999 be adopted, so that the necessary planning application can be made in accordance with the programme.

The meeting was concluded at 8.45pm.
