V27-312 : SOUTH LOWESTOFT INDUSTRIAL ESTATE TO KIRKLEY CYCLE ROUTE

The report of the Director of Community Services considered proposals to provide a signed cycle route from South Lowestoft Industrial Estate to Kirkley, with extensions to serve the Safeway Supermarket and Kessingland.

RESOLVED

1. That an Order be prepared under the Cycle Tracks Act 1984 to construct a cycle path between Saffron Square and Bloodmoor Road, Lowestoft.

2. That the western footway on Tower Road, Gisleham from Bloodmoor Road, Lowestoft to the Safeway entrance be converted to permit shared unsegregated use by cyclists.

3. That residents of Love Lane, Lowestoft be contacted with a view to carrying out minor improvements to the surface over part of the width.

4. That, subject to the provision of cycle path facilities at the A12 "Safeway" roundabout, that part of the eastern footway on Tower Road, Gisleham (south of the Safeway junction) be converted to permit shared unsegregated use by cyclists.
