V27-311 : HEALTH WALK PROJECT FOR SUFFOLK

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control provided details of the Health Walk Project for Suffolk, which was an idea promoted by The Countryside Agency and The British Heart Foundation with an aim to improve the health of the local community by encouraging regular activity.

A feasibility study had recommended that a Project Officer be appointed for a three year period, and contributions were being sought to fund this position and to provide a small working budget.

RESOLVED

That a contribution of £750 per annum for three years be made towards the costs of the Health Walk Project for Suffolk, to be met from the Planning Policy Implementation Budget, subject to the Project being targeted towards existing areas of deprivation, being linked with existing countryside projects, and monitoring of progress, before the release of further funding for the years 2000/01 and 2001/02.
