V27-309 : NEW CUT MALTINGS, HALESWORTH - GRANT APPLICATION

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined a grant application for external works to the New Cut Maltings, Halesworth, under the Halesworth Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme (HERs). The applicant was in the process of purchasing the building with a view to conversion to an arts centre, thus creating a number of jobs.

These works were expected to cost over £30,000 in total, and to enable the Project to progress committee approval was sought to allow a 50% grant at £15-20,000 funded by the English Heritage HERs Scheme, as required by Standing Orders.

RESOLVED

That a grant of £15-20,000, subject to the provision of a final estimate, be approved under the Halesworth Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme, towards external repairs at New Cut Maltings, Halesworth.
